West of the mungo had their first taste of CHAN football, as the Limbe omnisports Stadium was the center of attraction as group D teams were all in action.
The group rated by many as the group of the underdogs, turned to be the group with the most number of goals scored after round one matches with 5 goals scored, equal to the number scored in the other three groups.

The first game between Zambia and Tanzania, saw the chipolopolo of Zambia beat Tanzania 2-0. NAPSA Stars FC’s Collins Sikombe opened scores at the 64th minute from the penalty spot. Ten minutes to the end of the match, Nkwazi FC forward produced volley which sealed a 2-0 win for Zambia.
The second game, what Zambia can do, Guinea can do better as they dismantled Namibia 3-0 with goals from Horoya duo, Morlaye Sylla and Yakhouba Gnangna Barry saw the west African nation seal all three points.

The outcome of the matches sees Horoya AC’s forward scoring the first brace of the tournament as he is now the leading top scorer with two goals.
Match day two sets another classico which by many, will be characterized by goal scoring as the chipolopolo of Zambia take on Guinea on Saturday January 23 while Namibia will take on Tanzania in the second at the Limbe omnisports Stadium
