Uganda Senior Women’s National Team (Crested Cranes) head coach George Lutalo has moved outside the provisional squad of twenty seven players he revealed few days ago to start preparations ahead of the forthcoming 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Lutalo has drafted three more players into the Crested Cranes initial provisional squad ahead of their double header against Ethiopia with the first leg slated for 20th October at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende and then a return leg in Bahir Dar six days later.

The new additions to the Crested Cranes initial provisional squad that had a recovery training session in the evening at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru are U20 Women’s National Team trio of striker Juliet Nalukenge and midfielders Shakirah Nyinagahirwa and Hadijah Nandago

The aforementioned U20 players were very influential as the Uganda U20 Women’s National team eliminated neighbours Kenya from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers thanks to a 10-3 aggregate win after the first and second leg played at Nyayo International stadium and St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende respectively.
Nalukenge, Nandago and Nyinagahirwa have joined eight other U20 Women’s National Team players that were part of the team that eliminated Kenya and were also included in the initial Crested Cranes Squad that was named by George Lutalo few days ago.
The eight are Fauzia Najjemba (U20 captain), Margaret Kunihira and Shamirah Nalugya who have previously played at the senior level, Daphine Nyayenga, Samalie Nakacwa, Sumaya Komuntale, Bira Nadunga and Aisha Nantongo who are earned their maiden call to the senior team.
