Schools braced for epic showdowns as this term’s Sir Apollo Kaggwa schools /City Parents’ school Inter-school co-curricular competitions climax

This term’s Sir Apollo Kaggwa Schools /City Parents’ school Inter-school co-curricular competitions’ action returns this Wednesday with a number of exciting fixtures on the card at different venues as the competitions climax.
These come after a grueling phase one action of the competition where all the 10 Sir Apollo Kaggwa schools / City Parents’ school at least played a game apiece in netball, volleyball, football, basketball and also competed in swimming competitions that were held at Centenary Park and Olympia on 23rd March 2022.
PHASE TWO VENUE
Group A: (Ball GAMES)
Group B ball games will be hosted at Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School – Mengo with several schools including the host school (Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School -Mengo), Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School – Kitintale, Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School – Nakasero, Fairways Nursery and Primary School – Kireka and Kyengera Parents School.
Group B:(Ball GAMES)
Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School – Kisaasi will host group B ball games. This group has Winston day and boarding primary school – Kawempe, City Parents’ School, Sir Apollo Kaggwa Boarding Primary School (Old Kampala), Kyengera Parents School-Mugongo and the host school (Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School – Kisaasi).
SWIMMING
Inter-group swimming competitions will be held at Centenary Park for the selected swimmers according to phase one performance of individual participants and therefore , the best three participants from group A and group B per category shall compete this Wednesday.
The organising committee has urged all group coordinators to take note of th age groups of their respective participants and also limit the maximum number of swimming activities per participant to a maximum of four to give room to other participants to showcase their abilities and therefore no child will be permitted to participate in more than four activities.

For starters, this term’s Sir Apollo Kaggwa schools /City Parents’ school Inter-school co-curricular competitions are meant to ensure that pupils’ talents are identified, nurtured and promoted with active participation and the main objective is to have SAK/CPS schools’ team for each game which will represent the organization in national and international competitions.
The competitions are also intended to open new opportunities for learners to experience football, netball , swimming, volleyball and basketball on a level where they practise leadership, commitment, fair play and teamwork as well as participation in team sport, communication between peers, tactical play, team building and FUN.
GROUPS
All the 10 Sir Apollo Kaggwa Schools/ City Parents’ school were drawn into two groups of five teams each.
Group A has five schools and these are Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School -Kitintale, Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School -Nakasero, Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School -Mengo plus the Wakiso based duo of Kyengera Parents School and Fairways Nursery and Primary School (Kireka).
Meanwhile, Group B has City Parents’ School, Winston Day and Boarding Primary School Kawempe, Sir Apollo Kaggwa Boarding Primary School (Old Kampala), Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School -Kisaasi and Kyengera Parents School-Mugongo.
