

The 2022 USSSA National Girls football Championship gets underway few hours from now after being pushed forward by a year due to the outbreak of the deadly Corona virus.
The championship will be played at different venues in the hosting City of Gulu and three of the 56 schools expected to take part in this year’s tournament have revealed their final squads ahead of the much anticipated kick off of the competition.
Record winners and FEASSA Champions Kawempe Muslim Senior Secondary school have named a new look squad mainly dominated by Uganda U-17 & U-20 Women’s National football team stars led by midfielders Hadijah Nandago, Shakirah Nyingahirwa and right back Samalie Nakacwa
Other players in the named squad are custodian Natukunda Diana, Kasana Brenda, Nalukoda Suzan, Mushimire Ritah, Nankwanga Shakirah, Nabulime Phiona, Nabukenya Agnes,Nakato Rebecca, Namutebi Krishna, Kampi Halima, Kisakye Dorcus, Nakimera Sharifah, Nangendo Esther, Nasaazi Allen, Kyomuhendo Sumayiyah, Aziiza Amoding and Anisha Twaha.
Kawempe Muslim Senior Secondary School were drawn in Group A with Highway Secondary School, Kibingo Girls, Gods Care High, Nyondo Secondary School , Kihihi Secondary School, Soroti based Olila High School and will also be joined by late comer three (3).


Elsewhere , Luweero based Kayindu Secondary school ,have also named their final squad for this year’s Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association National Girls’ football championship that will be held in Gulu.
Kayindu’s squad is purely dominated by players from FUFA Women Elite league club Luweero Giant Queens led by Uganda U-20 women’s national football team custodian Namwanje Saidah and the exciting duo of Namanda Jesca and Babirye Hadijah.
The above players are joined by former Taggy High school midfielder Lwetuuso Regina , Namugenyi Christine ,Tambula Sarah , Namitanda Lydia Nakanjako Patricia and exciting winger Ndagire Sandra”Messi”.
There are also places for Namuyomba Lydia,Adong Meble, Iraacha Joyceline ,Nagadya Stella, Babirye Hasina, Namubiru Naziifa, Namugenyi Harriet, Lwantale Afua, , Nankunda Joyce, Nabitalo Dezzy and Luweero Giant Queens skipper Ayikoru Phiona.
The Edward Lugolobi coached side will tussle it out with Mukono based Mukono Bishops,Bigusu High school, Hope Secondary School Biira,Irundu Central, Nakigumba Parents and one late coming school (late comer 6) in Group D.

On the other hand , Kabalole and Rwenzori champions King of Kings College who have have joined the rest of the qualified schools as one of the late comers have released their 18-player for this year’s girls football championship after fulfilling all the necessary requirements.
The Rodgers Ayesiga coached side is a blend of players from the FUFA Women Super League and Elite league and is mainly made-up of players from Tooro Queens and King of Kings WFC.
