Fast forward to January 2023, a chapter of resurgence unfolded. After enduring two surgeries and confronting the grueling journey of four chemotherapy cycles, Haller emerged from the shadows, ready to reclaim his place on the hallowed turf.
This wasn’t just a return; it was a triumphant defiance against the odds, a testament to a spirit unbroken by the darkest of shadows.February 2024 witnessed Haller not just reclaiming his position in the beautiful game but etching his name in the hallowed halls of football folklore.
The 2023 AFCON semi-final and final witnessed Haller scoring the decisive goals, not merely propelling his team to glory but etching his name in the pantheon of footballing heroes who rise above challenges.
Born on 22 June 1994 in France, Haller’s football odyssey spans clubs from Auxerre to Utrecht, Eintracht Frankfurt to West Ham United, and Ajax to Borussia Dortmund. On 22 January 2023, Haller made his competitive debut for Dortmund in a 4-3 win against Augsburg. His first professional goal followed on 4 February 2023, in a 5-1 victory against Freiburg.
