As the Round of 16 for boys’ football commenced, teams from Islamic-founded schools across the region took to the field, eager to showcase their skills and passion for the beautiful game.
In a series of captivating encounters, Greenlight Islamic secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kasawo SS, while Kyadondo SS asserted their dominance with an impressive 3-0 win against Abu Aisha. Meanwhile, Kakungulu High and Kawempe Muslim displayed their prowess, each claiming hard-fought 1-0 victories over Busiika Muslim and Kadugala SS, respectively.The drama continued to unfold as Madinah Islamic SS emerged triumphant with a 3-1 victory over Mbogo Mixed, while Kakungulu Memorial edged past Namagabi SS with a slender 1-0 win.
However, the match between Masaka SS and Kawanda SS ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw, with Masaka SS ultimately prevailing in the penalty shootout with a scoreline of 4-2.In a display of sheer dominance, Kibuli SS delivered a masterclass performance, routing Bwala Muslim with an emphatic 6-0 triumph, solidifying their status as contenders in the tournament.
As the dust settled on the Round of 16, the spirit of unity and sportsmanship prevailed, with each match serving as a testament to the power of sport to bring communities together and inspire greatness.
