Vipers SC have intensified preparations ahead of their forthcoming encounters with Sudan’s Al Hilal in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League with the first leg slated for November 28 2020 at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
The Venoms suffered a 2-1 defeat to fellow StarTimes Uganda Premier Legaue outfit URA FC in a closed door friendly match at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende yesterday ahead of the aforementioned ties with Al Hilal.
Both Sam Ssimbwa and Fred Kajjoba’s sides looked up for the task in an end-to-end encounter but the tax collectors often looked the more threatening of the two sides.
Fred Kajjoba’s men struggled with their decision-making in the final third whilst URA’s Saidi Kyeyune proved incredibly hot for the Venoms to handle.
A goal from Saidi Kyeyune and Cromwell Rwothomio condemned Fred Kajjoba’s men to defeat while Vipers goal came from Mbowa Patrick’s own goal as he tried to clear Geoffrey Wasswa’s free kick in a cruel end to an enthralling contest.

Fred Kajjoba who has previously been criticised for adopting a cautious gameplan in big matches seemed more willing to let the Venoms go forward yesterday and he must have been furious with the way his men wasted glorious goal scoring opportunities and the way tax collectors were slicing open his defence.
However, his side won’t want a repeat of the same result here when they host Sudan’s Al Hilal in the first leg of the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League on 28th November 2020.
The return leg of the CAF champions league preliminary round pitting Vipers and Al Hilal will be played in Sudan’s capital Omdurman on 6th December 2020.

The winner on aggregate will then face either Nouadhibou of Mauritania or Ghana’s Asante Kotoko.
