
For football fans all over the pearl of Africa , the countdown to the resumption of the StarTimes Uganda Premier Premier League action has officially begun .
The StarTimes Uganda Premier League Secretariat , on Friday, released a draft fixture list for the first round of Uganda’s top tier football league and ever since the announcement, anticipation has been steadily soaring among the Ugandan football fraternity.

The released draft fixture for the 2020/21 includes fourteen clubs out of the sixteen clubs in the Uganda top flight league.
And out of the fourteen clubs, Seven clubs are not having home grounds and they are SC Villa, URA, Mbarara City, BUL, Soltilo Bright Stars and UPDF and this means that their home grounds will be Communicated.
However on a sad note, Busoga United and newly promoted Kitara FC who are yet to meet the minimum requirements as per the Fufa Club Licensing Committee report are not part of the draft fixture.
The duo will be considered in the draft fixtures for the new season if they meet the requirements and have until Monday 23rd November 2020; 1700hours to fully comply with the missing requirements and also submit a play ground that meets FUFA level 3.
Failure to comply will mean the clubs do not get a license but stand a chance to appeal to the FUFA Club Licensing Appeals Committee.
MATCH DAY ONE FIXTURES
The matches are set to get underway from 3rd December, with Vipers hosting newly promoted MYDA FC in the first StarTimes Uganda Premier Legaue match post the lockdown.
MYDA FC face the toughest possible start to their first StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign as their opening day fixture will see them play champions of last year’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Elsewhere on the opening day, KCCA will kick start their campaign but away to Soltilo Bright Stars from a yet to be confirmed venueas the latter are yet to confirm their home ground while Abdallah Mubiru’s police FC will get their campaign underway against Wakiso Giants at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The first fixture for Sc Villa will see them visit BUL fc on Friday 4th December whilst Westnile giants, Onduparaka fc will host Express FC at the Green Light stadium in Arua while the Ankole lions (Mbarara City) will host URA at a yet to be confirmed venue.
The new season tentative date for kick-off remains Thursday, December 3 however the games are subject to change depending on television schedule and fulfilment of the Fufa Licensing requirements by UPL clubs for the 2020/21 season.
