Former SC Villa Presidential hopeful Daniel Yafesi Bakaki has extended financial assistance to SC Villa players in a bid to morale boost the team ahead of their forthcoming engagements in this year’s StarTimes Uganda Premier league campaign.

In a simple arrangement at the club’s training base (Uganda Martyrs High school, Lubaga) on Saturday, Bakaki’s personal assistant Hakim Kivumbi has handed over 2.5 millions to the team through their captain Meddie Kibirige in fulfilment of a promise Bakaki made to the team before their second match of the season against Wakiso Giants (giving 2.5 millions to the team irrespective of the match outcome).

According to Bakaki and his team, the financial boost is intended to bring hope and motivation to the team and it comes just after three days SC Villa registered their first defeat of the season with a 3-1 loss to Wakiso Giants at Kavumba Recreation Centre.

Through his personal assistant, Bakaki has also called upon the players to believe in themselves and be mentally tougher when they play their next game against rivals Express FC on 20th November 2021 and its likely that a win over the Red Eagles will fetch the Jogoos more financial boost from Bakaki.
Meanwhile, Bakaki who had earlier shown interest in contesting for the SC Villa presidency and has been campaigning on social media for a couple of weeks is among a team of four officials long time SC Villa fan and financier, businessman, and entrepreneur Ahmed Omar Mandela unveiled on Wednesday as he confirmed his intention to contest for the SC Villa presidency in the forthcoming elections due November 13th.

The coalition between Mandela and Daniel Bakaki means that Mandela will stand for Presidency while Bakaki will serve as the senior vice president.Meanwhile former SC Villa president Ben Misagga, former SC Villa chairman Salim Ssemanda and the club’s current CEO Muhamad Bazirengedde will all serve in the capacity of vice presidents in case Mandela comes out victorious from the club’s November polls.
