

Uganda Women’s Senior National football team, the Crested Cranes Head Coach George Lutalo, has named the final traveling team to Ethiopia for the return leg of the second round of 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
This comes just four days after his side, the Crested Cranes secured a 2-0 home triumph over Ethiopia in their first leg of the first round of the qualifiers of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) played at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Riticia Nabbosa’s first-half goal and Fauzia Najjemba’s header in the second half earned the Lutalo coached side the much needed home victory and boosted their hopes of progressing to the next qualifying phase of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of nations qualifiers.
The traveling squad has three custodians and these are UCU’s Ruth Aturo (Crested Cranes captain), and Lady Doves duo of Daisy Nakaziro and Daphine Nyayenga.
On the other hand, U20 left back Sumaya Komuntale who made her debut in the first leg at Kitende has made it to the traveling squad alongside Asia Nakibuuka, Shadia Nankya, Viola Namuddu and Pheobe Banura completing the defense selection.

Lady Doves midfielder Riticia Nabossa who scored the first goal in the first leg at Kitende has managed to overcome the knock she picked up to make the trip and she’s joined by Sheebah Zalwango, Shamirah Nalugya, Joan Nabirye and Rhoda Nanziri to complete the midfield.
Meanwhile, Lutalo has named seven forwards in the traveling squad and these are Juliet Nalukenge, Magret Kunihira, Hasifah Nassuna, Sandra Nabweteme, Fauzia Najjemba, Sharon Naddunga and USA based striker Laki Otandeka Kanyesigye who didn’t make it to the final squad that played the first leg at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The team will depart Entebbe International Airport at 3:30pm today.
The Ethiopians are set to play host to the Crested Cranes in the second-leg encounter on Tuesday 26th October 2021 at the Abebe Bikila stadium in Addis Ababa and the Crested Cranes will be banking on their home win advantage in the second-leg encounter as they look to reach the next stage of the 2022 AWCON qualifiers.A one goal loss or a draw of any kind will see the Crested Cranes qualify to next qualifying phase.
