Beach soccer : UBSA, UWFA join hands to promote Women beach soccer in Uganda

The Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) and Uganda Women Football Association (UWFA) announced yesterday that they have joined hands in order to promote and develop Women beach soccer in Uganda.

The New Memorandum of Understanding between Uganda Beach Soccer Association and Uganda Women Football Association was signed yesterday at FUFA SIGs offices with Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) Chairperson Mr. Mutabazi Deo and Uganda Women Football Association ( UWFA) Mrs. Kubingi Margaret in attendance together with officials from their respective associations.

"Today we have had a meeting that unites Beach soccer clubs and Uganda Women Football Association, we are together with the chairman of Beach soccer Mr. Mutabazi Deo and all the clubs that participated in last year's season,"
"There were so many discussions done that we need to develop the game of beach soccer in women and also try to attract other stakeholders who will like to watch and also play the game in the country,"

"We have agreed that we have a festival at the end of the year on 31st December 2021 at Mutoola Beach so that we can have everybody there, the clubs, the teams that will be playing and all the stakeholders for this case, for enjoying and getting together as Uganda Women Football Association and Uganda Beach Soccer Association. " - UWFA chairperson Margaret Kubingi noted about the new Memorandum of Understanding

The New Memorandum of Understanding between the two associations will see Uganda Women Football Association (UWFA) run Women beach soccer competitions effective 2021-2022 season under close supervision of the Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA).

“Today is a very historical day in field of beach Soccer, as we have entered into understanding with Uganda Women Football Association to take over the Women Beach Soccer activities effective from this season for purposes of proper allocation and to be given proper attention because UWFA is the mother body of all women football and beach soccer competitions in Uganda.” Deo Mutabaazi, UBSA Chairperson confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Uganda Women Football Association (UWFA) will also coordinate capacity building for women beach soccer coaches and referees.
