In a groundbreaking move, emerging talent and forward Fazil Tumwine, from St. Mary’s SS Kitende, fondly referred to as Chopla, has officially joined the Vipers SC first team squad. This advancement closely follows his exceptional performances with St Mary’s Boarding School, Kitende (SMASK), a renowned breeding ground for football prodigies.
Since Coach Livingstone Mbabazi’s arrival at St Mary’s Stadium, Tumwine has tirelessly trained with the Vipers SC first team, leaving no goalpost untouched. His unparalleled strength and proficiency in scoring goals captured the coach’s attention, establishing him as a prominent candidate for a coveted position on the senior team roster.

Tumwine’s journey to the Vipers senior team mirrors the story of a rookie rising to the occasion and delivering a spectacular performance. His ability in front of the goal is not merely a skill; it’s a game-changing attribute that has propelled him from the ranks of SMASK to the intensity of Vipers SC’s senior squad.
The narrative of the striker reads like a genuine football fairy tale. Under Tumwine’s leadership, SMASK achieved glory at the 2023 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) games in Fort Portal. This triumph echoed with the cheers of fans and emphasized the idea that Tumwine is more than just a player – he’s a game-changer.
The intrigue intensified when SMASK encountered Amus College School in the East African games (FEASSSA). In a decisive confrontation rivaling any sports drama, Tumwine propelled Kitende into the lead in the ninth minute. This happened as a result of a rebound from close range after Amus College’s goalkeeper attempted to deflect Ronald Madoi’s powerful header, only for it to fall at Tumwine’s feet.
In the 27th minute, Allan Oyirwoth equalized, bringing hope back to Amus College with a remarkable finish, resulting in a 1-1 draw. The match progressed to a penalty shootout, and SMASK emerged triumphant with a 4-2 victory in Rwanda.
As Tumwine makes his debut on the Vipers SC senior team stage, the football world anticipates the impact of his presence. His elevation is not merely a promotion; it serves as a testament to his skill, determination, and the never-say-die attitude that characterizes the language of the game.
